Tonight I went to see the second Knives Out film, 'Glass Onion' after enjoying the first one so much. Making the most of The Times' 2 for 1 ticket offer, I headed to my local Everyman cinema.
Daniel Craig returns as brilliant detective Benoit Blanc to solve another twisting murder mystery, accompanied by another big name cast. I was most impressed by Janelle Monae's performance - but I won't spoil anything and you can see why for yourself! Former boxer Dave Bautista had continually impressed me with how well he had turned his hand to acting. You may have seen his hilarious performance as Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Just as stylish and glossy as the first, I thoroughly enjoyed this film from start to finish. Once again, I did not predict the ending!
The stunning set design and high production value of both instalments of the Knives Out saga so far are reminiscent of Kenneth Branagh's recent Agatha Christie remakes, 'Death on the Nile' and 'The Orient Express'. I so hope to see more of these glittering murder mysteries in the coming years.
